Ok if you live in low wind areas

I bought a 32 foot one. We assembled it, and put it on a 6x6 wood base. The snow shedding design was fine, but the doors, windows and roof air vents were made with cheap hinges, door locks and of poor quality. When it was windy we had to tie the door shut, the windows and the roof vents down. They bent with the force of the wind, and the automatic openers busted. That was my biggest complaint. Maybe in a low wind area they would be fine, but if you get wind, do not buy this greenhouse as you will be sorry.

    Lots to like

We’re retired, we live in Southcentral AK, and the Sungrow Compact was a great choice for us. We drove to Anchorage in a standard pickup to pick it up, and transportation to Homer was relatively easy. The only reason for four stars rather than five is that assembly for us was more time consuming and tedious than we expected, even with all the helpful videos, and there were more than a few undo’s and start overs. That said, now that it’s done, kinks and all, I really do love it.

    The Best Value

After researching compact greenhouses I went with Planta even though it was not the least expensive. Cost is important to me, but so is quality and durability. In the end, I could not be happier with my purchase. The design, the materials and the instructions, both written and video, are excellent. I have had a lot of experience over the years assembling things like furniture, tools and grills, and I was impressed by how accurately the parts of the greenhouse went together. All the screw holes were in the exact right position and lined up perfectly. A couple of times it seemed like maybe I would need to enlarge a hole, but in each case it was because I had overlayed two parts in the wrong order. After reviewing the instructions I switched the parts around, and the holes lined up.

I did this pretty much as a one man job. A neighbor helped me while I stood the arches up and connected them. He also helped me lift the entire structure into the footer holes that I had dug. Other than that, I did the whole thing by myself. This included installing the plastic panels, although a helper would have been nice for that step. I had to use some ingenuity such as using a piece of tape to hold a wrench onto a nut while I tightened from the outside. Clamps were used to keep panels from slipping while I was getting them lined up.

The finished project is beautiful and extremely sturdy. I am still in the process of landscaping around it and building shelves inside. Really…

The best greenhouse we have owned

We have had other greenhouses in other gardens over the years but this is by far the best - albeit my knees got very sore bolting the sections together on a concrete driveway. Solid construction and already growing fine salad vegetables in November. It's the perfect size for what we need - looking forward to germinating seeds and growing tomatoes next year.

Sungrow Compact: Just right for us.

We took our time preparing the site and assembling this cute little greenhouse. It was finished for the end of summer, so we are looking forward to starting plants for the garden in the spring. For now, there is some lettuce growing in containers. We are in Zone 3, so sitting in its warmth in October and November is a bonus!
