The automatic ventilation window is heat-activated, which requires no electrical power or programming. This function ensures that hot air escapes during the day, preventing shrivelling or withering of your plants.
The number of windows recommended depends on the size of the greenhouse, the environment you’re located, and the types of plants that you’re planning on growing. The following numbers, however, are good a starting point:
We recommend installing an even number of ventilation windows on either side of the greenhouse for optimum airflow.
The technology of these automatic roof vents is amazing!! I installed the first one towards the end of a hot day and it was completely open. I was not optimistic that it was as "automatic" as Planta advertised, it seemed too simple. Next morning, I went out to see if the vent had remained open and was pleasantly surprised to see it had completely closed during the night when temps reached tge 50s! During the following day, the vent slowly opened as the day warmed up. Bravo, Planta!!!
